Black April Commemoration

Black April Commemoration is an event hosted by the Vietnamese Student Union at UCLA to commemorate the Fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975 and the end of the Vietnam War. This year will mark the 34th year of the Fall of Saigon in which the North Vietnamese Army captured Saigon, the former capital of South Vietnam, from the Army of the Republic of Vietnam, South Vietnamese Army. We aim this event to educate the UCLA and local communities about the importance and meaning of Black April. Furthermore, we use this commemoration to highlight significant cultural and political issues that are currently affecting our community.

This year, marks the fourth annual Black April Commemoration at UCLA which will be held on April 29, 2009 from 7-9pm in Fowler Hall.
